Language and literature have been a source of fascination for me since my early school days in the heart of Yorkshire. After graduating with a degree in French and Russian, I worked with languages for many years in a variety of fields, from education to export. Along the way, I also completed an MA in Translation Studies, the Institute of Linguists’ Diploma in Translation, and training in fiction editing with the Society for Editors and Proofreaders. Gradually, my focus has turned to the literary arts, and I now work as a freelance literary translator and editor from my home in Lincolnshire, and have worked on a wide range of books, stories and essays, as well as experimenting with my own writing.
I am a native speaker of English and live in the UK. When I am not immersed in words of all kinds, I can occasionally be found playing the violin or walking around the English countryside.
